Dedicated to the prevention and treatment of peritoneal malignancies
- We’re a group of passionate Indian surgical and medical oncologists dedicated to promoting and developing peritoneal surface oncology as a specialty in India.
- We value transparency and aim to provide equal opportunities for all our members based on their expertise and experiences.
- Our main goal is to promote and develop this specialty throughout India. We aim to establish a robust data collection system through the HIPEC registry, which is now part of our society.
Indian Network for Development of Peritoneal Surface Maligancy
A focussed group of surgical and gynecological oncologists from the Indian subcontinent with expertise and interest in the management of primary and metastatic peritoneal malignancies.
For the last 10 years, the founding members of SPSO have been at the forefront of developing peritoneal oncology in India. The group has been focussed on collaborative research, training and educational programmes with the working title 'INDEPSO'- Indian Network for Development of Peritoneal Surface Oncology.
The Indian HIPEC registry (www.indianhipecregistry.com) has been collecting data for over 8 years (founded in 2016). Through collaboration and research, the society aims to provide recommendations for the prevention and management of peritoneal malignancies in India, that are in sync with the latest evidence and internation guidelines but also consider local and regional problems and challenges The society provides support and guidance to surgeons wishing to specialise in this field with training opportunities and clinical guidance during their early experience.
